Creo là tên gọi mới của ProE kể từ ngày 28 tháng 10 năm 2010 khi PTC quyết định đổi tên phần mềm này.

Tên thương mại của phần mềm, các module, các gói cài đặt mở rộng liên quan được đổi tên như sau:

• Pro/ENGINEER® đổi thành Creo Elements/ProTM 
• CoCreate® đổi thành Creo Elements/DirectTM 
• ProductView® đổi thành Creo Elements/ViewTM

Đổi sang tên Creo là bước ngoặt đáng ghi nhớ. Thay đổi mạnh mẽ về giao diện tương tác với người dùng dễ sử dụng, dễ hiểu hơn nhiều so với phiên bản cũ ProE. Không còn nhiều các menu lệnh kiểu sổ dọc khó hiểu, mà thay vào đó là các menu lệnh dạng tab (table) trực quan rõ ràng hơn.
